My hope for this blog is to share my passion and insights to those who care about lifelong Christian formation – or at least to listen in to someone who is on a journey of self-reflection in the midst of being called to the ministry of Christian formation as a lay person.
After many attempts of starting a blog (which for the most part has been a secret venture for the past year), it’s time to go live. The soil is as ready as it’s ever going to be for my planting of thoughts, ideas and ramblings. The challenge for me will to keep tilling, watering and sowing new seeds so that a garden worthy of sharing with others can grow. As the song goes that I used to teach in Nursery School and Church School:
Inch by inch, row by row
Gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row
God bless these seeds I sow
God keep them safe below
‘Til the rain comes tumbling down
I read the word ‘row’ in its other meaning and thought I’d see you venting your spleen against injustice!
Glad you’re blogging and looking forward to reading your ramblings.
Mary

That is the Garden Song by David Mallett … only modified slightly … to make “God” more explicit …
Love the song it is very meaningful for how we engage people to share the faith and learn from one another and from God

Yes – thanks Elaine. I tried to post him singing it via a YouTube video, but it didn’t seem to “take” as I try to figure all this out. I remember hearing Arlo Guthrie singing it in the late 70’s. 🙂
