Following on the heels of the Gospel appointed for July 21 – the “Mary / Martha” story, in which many believe it is a comparison to the contemplative vs. active life, Sara discusses the place of mission trips in her ministry at St. Gregory of Nyssa’s feeding program in San Francisco.

It would behoove any youth leader planning a mission trip and any Outreach Committee to read and inwardly digest her words before deciding what (and WHY) they do what they do.

Is mission and outreach FOR or WITH? There is a radical difference between the two.
